Thats gutting mate, but as the guys have said it is repairable. You have invested a lot of money into your bus so far so stick with it :D

An update apparantly they are picking it and me up tomorrow. And getting NFU and the garage's engineer to give it the once over.To get the estimate for work.Im cacking myself that they will right it off

Well I got the bus to the garage today. Now im waiting for the insurance assessors evaluation of the damage verses P.A.V. pre accident value.
As to whether it is "worth"repairing  And by what the cummudgeny old git. That ran the place was saying it doesnt look likely   Now im very down...Surely not. Ive got the vehicle insured at a realistic 6k.How far is to much though for repairs  I mean....Christ I only brought the thing in July

NADZ

Being following this, gutted for you :( , but if they write it off, buy it back off them. a motor and paint is surely less than 6k.

get it to the meet :D

Take the settlement with the option to buy and youll fix it up no probs speak to your insurance company its less money for them to shell out and arrange for disposal...

:D :D

This has to be said old VW's are sh** but we just cant help loving em!!. I imagine the most costly thing is gonna be the paint i bet you could get that lump running with replacement carb, leads dizzy cap and pipework and by repairing the loom in places. Even if the insurance company did write it off i bet it could be brought back to life easy enough, just the cosmetics that look the worst. Good luck and hope this thread has a happy ending
