Afternoon all.

A problem with my carb thats makeing me scratch my head a little.
CO 0.20 to 0.50
HC 1200 to 1500ppm
Ive spent a bit of time twiddling the screws trying to set it but not a lot happens.
Does it sound like an air leak or a worn carb?
1600cc sp motor that is all standard.
Its never been right since I built the engine a few years back.
Any ideas would be welcome as its running way to lean and I dont want to damage the heads etc.

Cheers

Sounds very lean to me, would have thought 3% maybe for CO, too lean a mixture can cause HC to go up........will run cooler with more mixture.......

Yeh, I know  .
Just wondered if anyone knew what is causing it.
Air leak or knackered carb.
The carb wont adjust. Wondered if an air leak could cause this or is the carb fkt.

might be a leak? Have you tried spraying some stuff around joins, easystart or wd40 i think? engine speed should increase if it sucks it in.

Base gasket on carb split?

Worn throttle spindle can suck air in and cause this

Worth a try.
Dont realy want to spray easystart or wd40 over hot parts of engine.
Will think of a less flammable alternative and give it a try.

Cheers
