im in process changing my cv joints only when i removed the bolts the last bolt ^mm Hex head is knackered !!!
any tips on how to remove or shal i use disc cutter to cut head off !!!!

Vice grips might do the trick if you crack of the bolt first with a few 'taps' from the hammer

You could try to use an oversized allen socket and hammer it in. That normally is enough to crack off the seized thread and enough to grip the bolt head. (Abit of WD40 will help)

It shouldn't damage the socket either if it's of good quality

You could use a disc cutter, pull the cv joint off and then that should give you access to clamp and unwind the thread. Mind the sparks around that area though because of the tank etc.

Been there.... Bought an over-sized hexi bit on a socket from Halfords, filed to a slight taper and twatted it home with a lump hammer. Workes a treat, difficult to get socket off the bolt to use on the next one but stored in my tool box for the next time...

i use irwin stud removers like these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/181037975783?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

very handy tool for any snapped/damaged bolts

Try all of the above, if they don't work then simply cut the head off.

Pull the drive shaft off and it'll leave a nice long stud which a good stud extractor/mole grips should get.

^^^whs. ask me how do i know :D
