The bathroom is progressing nicely (been plastering today!), so I'm thinking and daydreaming about the van again... I'm pretty sure the Devon poptop is going to go, but I can only find one ragtop manufacturer (http://www.parisbeetles.co.uk/bus sunroofs.htm) - does anyone know of another company? Also, any feedback regarding how watertight they are would be appreciated...

cheers

;)

Those from the riviera roof company look interesting, they say they are 100% leakproof. Anyone on here have one?

I found the Paris Beetle one great, no leaking, but fiddly to take off and on. It seems to be going strong after 4 years, not that I own her anymore. A couple of pics of my old Devon:

I've heard mixed reviews on the Paris but thats more than likely down to the installation they do look nice though, when I was hunting for mine thats who I intended to go for when the only reasonable busses seemed to be pop tops...(had my heart set on tin top)

 sacriledge! :p :p

i guess your not gonna do much camping then? :D

When it's on the road it'll be my daily - camping will be something we fit in as and when - the poptop is the only part of my bus I don't like (and never have)...

I love the look of a ragtop 8) , and don't really want to replace the whole roof to make it a tintop - also, it's a real pain to get in and out of the garage (low-ish roof) ! If I had a Devon interior inside I'd be more tempted to keep it as is, but I don't, so I won't!

Sacriledge, no - not for me!

;)

J&M, your van, your choice :D

Will look nice with the ragtop on.

Just out of interest, do any companies do a steel slider (or fibreglass) kit instead of a rag - just a thought (different from a ragtop  ) :D

The Riviera Roof Company mentioned at the start of the thread do them...

Their fibreglass roof replacement panel looks interesting, but it doesn't look right where it meets the front screen - also, it's not that much more for the ragtop!

If I were to use the Paris Beetle roof again I would:

Re-work the runners and fit bearings instead of the plastic guides
Fit extension bars to save the poppers issue
Fit a locking mechanism

Tell me more, I'm a ragtop virgin so all these issues are new to me!
