Hi,

I have a problem that seems to occur after an hour or so of driving. Basically I lose 1st and 2nd gear (or are extremely difficult to find) and at Bust Types all gears went as I arrived. When I switch the engine off gear changes are smooth and I have a Gene Berg bus shifter fitted too.

My mate at the garage reckons that it is something to do with the clutch, possibly not engaging when hot. I have adjusted the clutch cable which seemed to do the trick then it goes again...then it will be ok again for a few minutes...then goes again.

Any ideas?

thanks

Could be the clutch release bearing is on the way out? I have had similar in the past and that was the problem. New clutch and release bearing me thinks ;)

thanks - the only thing is that the Sachs clutch is about 5 years old and has done 10,000 miles. They dont go that quick do they?

cheers

not normally that quick, but I have had release bearings and clutches go with in a couple of days  usually a fault with the item tho not the driver...........honest! ;)
