is it a good thing to lower it, as some one from arnies told me to leave as it is,thats if i find one.

depends on how you like it, being new to them get behind the wheel of a standard bus and drive it, first get used to the fwd control aspect of driving which some folks cant get used to, then feel the sway of the bus and how it handles on open roads with a cross wind. Try a few lowered busses as each version has its attributes and all ride differently. Then think why do you want to lower it, looks, sway, stiffer ride....

mildly lowered slammed?

If your buying a lowered bus try and avoid cut and twist beams.

almost everyone here will say yes! lower stance looks soooo much better more stable round corners but maybe a little harsher a ride depending on the running gear you choose.

My opinion. Slam it 8)

Personally I'd focus on your quest for a good solid original bus, leave the ride height for another day.....use you 5K wisely and invest latter ie save up for the winter and put that as your 1st winter project...

Weld in some adjusters dude, that way you will always have the peace of mind you can go back to stock with little effort  . I think there will become a time when people will start turning their heads when they see a stock height bus. They also have the advantage of being easier to fix at the side of the road, just ask someone who's had to change a throttle or clutch cable on a lowered bus  .

Jim bob alesi,
Just changed my track rods without jacking the van up :) regular height not all bad. Agree about the adjusters you can decide what suits you better.

I noticed on my standard height bay, when it was being recovered that the front bumper just missed the floor as it was going on the bed.Does anyone have problems getting recovered with lowered buses?

IS THE WORLD OBSESSED WITH LOWERING......I KNOW I AM!!!

I'm not going to tempt fate by answering the recovery question

Some of us havn't needed to try getting our vans on to towtrucks

Sorry fella, hope nothing too serious to make it need to be recovered.

And for the record, when my bug was on a tow truck, it scraped a bit. Left two gouges in the road from the exhaust hitting the floor!
I now specify on the phone that I NEED a loader that goes flat on the floor :)

I totaly agree what Araon says.
Get the right van first.

My last ride was already lowered but done on the cheap and in the end i threw the beam away and started again which cost a few quid.

You also need to take in to consideration what you want the van for and circumstances.

If you have a family and want a van for camping etc...... then a seriously slammed van can create problems getting on sites and also need to consider will go down more when loaded with the family and kit.

Don't jump in head first .

when i find that first bus all your imfo will help :) and i will definitely need some more, thanks a lot
