Looks good mate, is it all going to be done on Saturday or will you be doing it before 8)

It'll be in before Saturday but I have strict orders not to fire it up!

I think you should :msn4: It would then mean you could shoot over to Bus Stopover.....Shouldn't take you long when you've got that pushing you along :D

I'll see mate, I'm tempted as I have a beer pass this weekend!

I have a running engine!

Nice one Ollie :D

When will you be using it again?? Me and Jake might go along to the T2D curry night next Friday after work if you fancy it

Looking forward to seeing the bus soon.

If Hector sorts it this weekend then yeah I'm deffo up for that Matt, what better way to celebrate my last day at work! The engine was only running on two cylinders last weekend - I think I set the carbs ups badly.

On the plus side, Cherished say it won't cost any extra on my policy. 8)

Hopefully it will all be sorted then :D Im raising the back end a bit this weekend as it was rubbing a bit on the way home from Stopover.

It will be good if you can make next Friday.....let me know

Finally back on the road, 1776 in and Slamwerks beam on.

So stoked, it pulls like a train and drives really nice, just got a slight bogging down at idle to tune out, and fit a steering damper and we're there!

Got the bus back in the workshop for a 500 mile tune up, turns out the carb jets weren't tightened down!

Also invested in a sun canopy - I love this place sometimes!

Then I went to Lifestyles and saw Matt Maz and a few Vws, and on the way back I smacked the sump plate...

This is Matt shaking his booty.

He makes me sick.

So yeah, bus is now back in the workshop. Had a day on it yesterday - swapped some shocks for not knackered ones, raised the front bumper back up, greased all beam and spindles, raised the back, lowered the front, checked spindles and bearings and swapped the king pin pinch bolts as mine were seriously worn, moved the numberplate and began to take my rock and roll piece of shite bed out. More work on Sunday and then tracking/camber and a new tyre booked in for Monday.

Love the first picture... 8)

Why do I make you sick

Looks painful Matt ;)

It was ok, just wish somebody had told me that i had gone the same colour as the Post Box around the corner

Matt, that could explaine why you aren't feeling so good, heat stroke
Hope you are feeling better for the off tomorrow to Dubs at the castle

Ollie, did you get the white vinyl you were looking for? If not you could try williammarstonltd.co.uk they supply all manner of trimming supplies and they are reasonably priced too. I used them for a late bay resto we are finishing at work.

Cheers Jake, I'm going for beech ply now instead when Grazy pulls his finger out...

Today I reset the suspension as the rear was lower on the left than the right, and then pulled out the crappy rock and roll bed to fit my Z hinges...

Loads better, and much more comfortable.

Unfotunately I'm missing one of the spring-loaded latches for the back of the upright when its in seating mode, does anyone know where I might get one from? If not I'll just get a domestic window latch from the hardware store.

Tracking and new tyre being sorted tomorrow, then final preparation for Bug Jam. 8)

Got some new rubber yesterday as the tracking was well out (I set it myself, obviously when I was drunk) and the drivers side was shagged after only 300 miles.

Damn thats a high ass!

Then the tracking got some laser surgery, bus drives a lot better now but it still whips out if corners, anyone know why?

Then I got stickered up ready for the Bug Jamboree...

Found out the z hinges I bought were missing a latch, £1 down the hardware store soon fixed this!

Few more jobs and we're all good to not go to Spa.

Oh yeah, also worked the inner arches for a bit of extra clearance yesterday, but I'm throwing the towel in as far the slammage war goes as I don't want to risk losing my deep sump on the new motor.

Looking good dood, i know what you mean, the slamming war comes to a point and mine has reached it! the beam hits speed humps, so its stopping going lower for me ;)

I love it how it is tho which is an advantage 8)
