Hey gang,, Does anybody on here get involved with machinery auctions and barn sales etc ?? I`m looking for a thread rolling machine for my neighbour who`s an engineer and wheelwright. If anyone has any good ideas on how to track one down, could you let me know. I know a lot of you lot are into bikes as well as busses and someone may come up with something. Appreciate any help or ideas where to look. I`ve put a little ad in the for sale and wanted section with a few more details on it. :)

register with these.... http://www.bidspotter.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

we get regular updates of all auction and whats being sold. :D

you might have to trawl through a lot of stuff but you will get what you want eventualy.

that said.. a thread roller??? fine if you want to mass produce, but would a comprehensive tap and die set not be better??

Thanks for that bud,, I`m in the process of registering with a few different ones at the moment, but that`s a new one so I`ll try that one as well, cheers ! . The thread roller he has at the moment is less than the size of a regular microwave and it`s to roll the thread onto the spokes that have an end allready on the other end where it hooks into the hub. He threads them individually wheel by wheel so that he can be exact as to how far the spoke goes into the nipple and not just three or 4 threads in, he also needs to bypass three which is apparently the recognised strongest spoke pattern. And then I get a bit lost which is ok as well. But there is a technical reason why they have to be rolled. He can get plenty of kit to roll bicycle spokes because theres loads about, but the motorbikes etc there`s not as much market for it. Might get a lead and might not. Thanks though for that site bud. :D
