Going to start and spruce up my Bay. I bought him when i went to pick my bug up from the garage after i had just found out wor lass was pregnant. I had just had enough pennies to buy him but he still needed paint  my mate said he would give it a quick blow over to get me sorted for a while.
Now nearly 2 years on the paint work has now got on my nerves so much i'm attempting 2 sort it myself
I have no idea really where to start so after reading threads on a few forums i decided 2 nitromors it to see what was underneath.....this hasn't turned out so well :(
So any input and help along my way would be much appreciated !!!
Cheers Ian (stump)

I was going to treat him to a nice new pro spray job, but since i don't have a garage and the kids playing in the street decided to crash a shooping trolley into the rear corner i'm reluctant to spend a fortune on him

After some nitro action with wire wool and scorring pad

Hoped to find this colour underneath. Now thinking its going to take another 40 years to find og paint at this rate !!!

cooool, cheers for that dude !!! i'am totally hooked now. Thanks for your help and keep up the good work with your thread i'll be keeping an eye on it.

Get yourself a 5 litre tup of nitromors some scrapers from wilko (£0.99p) and go for it if your planning to do this though if your going to metal then praps do an area where you suspect a repair is needed etc. then do the repair spray temp with some paint to stop it rusitng and move on around the van carrying out repairs etc. Then when all repairs done nitro the lot pop windows and send it to the spray shop unless your handy on with a sparygun / have the time. Don't underestimate the amount of time all that will take though not sure what your plan is but it seems to be hatching, check some of the resto threads on ere and you'll clearly see all thats involved....

Good luck and keep the pics coming...

whats that lock for on the corner of your dash Ian?

One of the previous owners must have lost the keys or something ??? He/she probs was not the brightest as they also tried to put a big ford radio in and did this to the dash

Its also there to baffle the chavs if they ever try to steal the "hippy" bus on there way back from the pub

I haven't updated this thread in a while so this is what i've been upto. Sadly no more sanding has taken place due to the crappy weather but i have nmanaged to get to a few shows and camp in the bus when it was dry. Over the last few months i've been collecting a few trinkets to add to the bus...Roof rack, side steps, rac badges, GB plate, suit cases, surf board, vintage sat nav :msn4: , front spot, rear fog, changed crappy repro rear lenses, fixed hole in dash and added period radio, replaced damaged air vents, rear tailgate script, nose badge and red9 ez rider kit with 4" rear spring plates 8)
So this weekend we managed to lower the bus.....i say we but i supervised and took plenty of pics  . I'm really happy with the way the bus now drives and looks. I need to replace spring plate covers as they are corroded (should have checked  ) and strip passenger side again as it looks a little higher but i will do this when covers arrive. I have lots of pics to add but thought i'd start writing this while pics upload to photobucket.
Cheers D'Arcy

Theres a quick look how she sits now. Now to concentrate on the body work since the nice(ish) weather has arrived. I'll post some pics up of how the red9 was fitted tomorrow when i get some time.
