Modifying my engine tinware

With some time off from work I've decided to start on the engine bay to replace the missing panels.
Before welding I'm cleaning back all the metalwork & rustproofing or replacing. Whilst it's raining I retreated to the garage to modify the tinware from over the gearbox ready for the new engine.
I used an old beetle piece that I planned to graft to my original. There was plenty of trial fitting before I was happy.

.....Final shape, blasted.

.....Weld through primer.

Also need to prep this before fitment.

I'll add some more pics when I've welded & painted.
