One of the rubber sealing O rings dropped off the VDO oil pressure gauge recently. The rubber had just split. I bought two new ones from a spares place and although they are not VDO they are 52mm, the correct size. I replaced the other seal, on the oil temp gauge, as well which was also beginning to split. They went on ok and are quite a bit thicker than the old VDO ones. Hopefully they will last a bit longer.

Just fitted a pair of complete convex mirrors from Auto Wares. Stainless, but still have chromed stalks. They have the longer threads unlike some cheaper ones. Seem good quality and do give a noticeably better rear view

Good to hear they are decent quality. As I already had a good mirror I decided to keep it, and just replace the lens. Funny how no one else until Auto Wares came along AFAIK supplied convex lenses in their cab mirrors.

The mirrors don't come with washers, which of course is an open invitation to our dear friend rust.
I found that garden hose washers fit real nice. Go for the pure silicone.

I used washing machine hose washers. Nice snug fit and not had any the black run marks you get from some rubber.

I decided after some thought to change the radio in the van. I got fed up with not having RDS on the Custom Auto sounds unit I had installed in 2013.
So I installed a modern Alpine unit instead. Very pleased with it!
I had read about the aperture not being wide enough because our buses were built before CD players in cars were a thing and the DIN size changed.
Fortunately it appears the PO in the USA had already had the hole trimmed and the fit was perfect.

Trip to Wasdale, we stayed at the NT Wasdale Head site. It s a lovely site but not great for campervans as the few places available are fairly small if you want pitch an awning.
We had a great time and Monty ran well, I am so pleased with the new engine 😊

Great pics Mike, we’ve also stayed on that site, yes a bit of a squeeze on some of the pitches. Great location though 👍
We generally prefer a grassy pitch but the campervans are on gravel hard standing, so I was glad I had a good rubber mallet with me for the pegs!
It is a fantastic location though I agree.
