Looking good Sarah, 8) like the fan for the Dog's  mine stick their heads out the windows & lick the glass.
I'm sure your going to do it, if you haven't already but get that battery clamped down, I've seen some serious damage done by them jumping about
even fires.

Ahhh found your thread!
Stunning bus, and I must say those 69 Savannah Beige Deluxes are rather lovely if I do say so myself ;)

Been a while since I updated this thread as I've been busy with my 1776 upgrade. Here's a link to my engine build thread, it should, work interruptions permitting be finished by the end of November 2012!

So whilst the engines been out I've been titivating the engine bay..

Good clean up, replace hoses in the fuel tank compartment and filler neck, repaint the engine bay.

Interesting finds in the tank compartment

I got my new filler hose from Chris at fisher restorations. He cut 200mm off for me and I had it the next day! Awesome quality at 5mm thick unleaded fuel repellant rubber.

I've removed my home made fire boards and used frosts sound proofing for better noise reduction/protection. :D

I've got three huge squares of the stuff, I'm sure ill find some use for it lol?!

I've now painted both the fuel tank cover and engine bay. It won't win any shows but its clean and tidy.

Removed the carpet underlay  that had been used as sound proofing and replaced with frosts insulation and sound felt. Really good stuff actually and made specifically for the engine bay by all accounts?! I replaced the two pieces either side too, they were still original pieces I think, they had part numbers stamped on the back. Unfortunately well past it though, shame, I do prefer to salvage these things when I can.

Hi Paul,
If you've read my whole thread you'll already know this but I'll shorten it just in case you didn't. When I bought it it was loooowwwwww, wagenwest spindles, shorter shocks and adjusters on the beam, not sure but notched stock splines at the back - done with a grinder  It was a ***** ride honestly, I went off and tried a few more that had different set ups, narrowed beams, K&L and all that jazz, they ALL scraped and banged and jiggled me about like a marble inside, not for me as I wanted to use the bus for camping and not flap everytime I saw a speed hump.
It's now ALL stock with the exception of an adjuster on the front beam only slightly dropped, stock shocks, spindles etc. the rear are stock plates on one spline. Tyres currently are 185/75/14 whitewalls and it rides great, never ever bottoms out, scrapes or have any trouble over speed humps. Perfect for me, not necessarily with the majority as its not slammed but it works for me and if you can do it yourself costs the price of a pair of adjusters, the rest is stock which in my opinion provides a better ride, drive and less strain on the driving gear.
Good luck with what you decide Paul, high is the new low you know!
Yes I did see you at camperjam, I drove past you upon exiting on Sunday morning, the muddy mess wasn't for me so made a sharp exit to the local greasy spoon then home :)
