Hello everyone.

I have just registered and thought I would show you my 72 Bay restoration. My brother did the restoration work at Retro Restoration and Performance in between jobs.

I bought it fairly cheap about 6 years ago. It was patched up and got through an MOT so I could use it. This is how it was before any work was started:

It didnt look all that bad from a distance, but was about 5 different shades of blue. None of them very nice
The engine wasnt very good, so that was changed for a new VW engine which my brother fitted and I drove around in it like this for a while, but thought it would look better lowered, so my brother built a lowered beam for me and lowered the back a bit too.

It looked loads better, but I wanted it repaired and repainted to look nice. It ended up costing me a fortune in panels. Once work started it was worse than we hoped. There was lots of filler covering areas that had been repaired before but not very well that had to be redone. Here are some of the pics:

It was painted in Savannah beige. I had a new headliner fitted and the original seats retrimmed to match my new bed.

I havent used it as much as I would like since Iv had it back, but I hope to use it more in 2014 8)

Thanks,
Jen
