just fitted a new stainless exhaust system supplied by VW Heritage to my 1600 stock engine - meant to have a right hand hot spot but the new box has a left hand hotspot pick up pipe - fits OK and runs OK but the right hand heat exchanger got very hot - much hotter than with previous stock exhaust system!!
does it make any diff to whether a stock 1600 runs with a left or right hand hotspot exhaust? would it affect the carb de-icing function of the hot pipe through the inlet manifold?
