Hiya, hoping one of you guys might be able to help me out, I'm fitting a complete new loom into my 1600 74 rhd bay. The loom is from VW Looms. I didn't have anything extra put into the loom apart from the correct wiring for my alternator which has an external regulator.
The loom has some labels but not as many as I would like
The wiring diagram doesn't seem to correspond with all of the colours which is a bit of a pain but il start with my first problem and see if any one can shed some light......
I am trying to work out the wiring in the engine bay, there is a separate small loom labeled reg box loom. Now my regulator has 3 spade connectors as does the alternator, this loom has ring connectors on the ends of what I think are the correct wires. Also there is another part of the reg loom that I'm not sure of. I'm clueless with wiring but my friend is mechanic and he can't work it out either so I'm hoping one of you guys can?
Here's some pics
The top of my alternator
The regulator
The reg box loom
The ends that I think go from alternator to reg?
The bit I have no idea about
And the black wire that joins them
Any help will be greatly appreciated as always
Cheers
Russ
