No Main Beam

Has anyone experienced main beam failing to work off of the indicator stalk. Main beam used to work and operate the relay when the headlight switch was operated twice. This option has stopped working so I have changed the switch, no change then the relay with no result. However the main beam does work when the 5th terminal on the relay has a wire attached but headlights are not an option then. Any ideas as I've got an mot booked for Friday?

There is an earth wire in the indicator stalk. Mine has come loose before and this has stopped the main beam. Open up the stalk and see if it needs re-soldering

Just finished soldering the earth and the relay wire, still no main beam. Any more ideas?

Could be a relay?
