Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice plz on an oil breather issue I've got a 1600 single port engine with a scat air filter on top of the carb also a scat oil filer neck with a breather on it my question is is it ok just to run a pipe of the breather tube to a small filter or is there any better way of goin about it?

Many thanks
Darren

Hi Darren, make sure you use the correct pipe as water pipe swells and deteriorates very quickly (how do I know) I`ve run mine to a 1.5L waterbottle stood up behind the battery and it`s worked like that for three plus years and the bottle collects the gunge that would be very evenly spread around your engine bay otherwise. I have got a proper breather set up as well but that`s not fitted, but the bottle is

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Another thing on my little list   ;)

I have fitted twin carbs and installed an Empi breather box from M7 to catch the oil vapour from the filler - would have normally gone back into the oil bath filter!

Hi

Thanks for the reply fellas ;) I like the bugpack/empi breather box idea but as I don't have a twin carb set up I've seen people put the the two other pipes into there rocker covers to relive crankcase pressure.
Is this a good set up for me to use do u recken? Or would it make any diffence to just put a small dome type oil filter on the end of the oil filler pipe? :?

Cheers darren
