Hi, took the bus on a 300 mile round trip last weekend and must say she went very well. But I did notice that she drank a fair bit of oil at the end of each way  couls this be the main seal? no clutch judder issues.
So my question is what are the most common areas for oil leaks, and how involved are they to do?
Need to get this sorted

Most common............in no particular order

Oil strainer plate
Oil pressure sending switch
Valve covers
Pushrod tubes
Oil cooler
Main seal

The first three can be tended to in a pretty straightforward manner. The last three usually require engine removal.

If it were the main seal, you would get oil comming out to the bell housing.

Most oil leaks are easy to spot, do you have surface oil over any of your engine on top or underneath.
Another way oil can be lost is through the breather system to the air filter (stock set up oil bath type), do you have the small rubber reed valve on the bottom end of the breather, from the generator stand? This is suposed to help balance cranck case pressure. I seem to remember that crank case pressure could affect oil usage. Maybe some one can confirm this.
