Ive noticed over the past week that my oil light has been coming on
Very occasionally at random times whilst driving, not nessesarily whilst hard braking or taking fast corners.....I know this can be a common cause of oil light on!
I've checked my oil level and its between the markers so now a little worried!!
I'm currently running with a finger sized hole in my exhaust manifold but I guess this
Won't be the cause.

---------

Also my gas pedal stuck this morning and upon inspection noticed from
Underneath that the cable was jammed.
It took me undoing it from both ends then a good hard tug with a
Pair of pliers to release..... I've sprayed copious amounts of WD40 to hopefully do Something..... would it be best to replace the cable???
Could it be fraying somewhere down the tube thus causing the problem??

Any help/advice appreciated

Cheers

Spence

What oil are you using? You could try changing the oil and using some 20/50. The other thing worth checking is that the wiring to the sender is in good shape since if it touches earth anywhere it will cause the light to come on. Another possibility is that the sender is faulty. If you replace the sender do not over tighten it - its a taper thread and tightening it too much can crack the case.

The stock throttle cable cannot fray, its solid wire. If yours is wound cable then yes it could be that its fraying. Get somebody to work the throttle while you check underneath for any problems. WD40 wont last long as a lubricant so if lubricating has fixed your problem you will need to re do it with some real oil.

Thanks for advice,
Morris oil is in engine - will check the sender and sort out oil change,

Cable - looking again its solid wire so where could it be sticking?
Thought about parking it on a hill and pumping some oil down the pipe
Under the bus :?:

Yes, provided the plastic part of the cable guide behind the engine is correctly located onto the metal pipes at both ends then oiling at the carb end will allow oil to flow the length of the cable. Its also worth checking the metal linkage under the pedal/floor of the cab. Wear and lack of lube here can also cause probs. :)
