hi - can you advise me on the oil pressure relief and regulator/control valves - does the plunger with the groove fit the relief valve (with the long spring) at the rear of the block and the plain plunger fit the regulator valve (with the short spring) at the front (flywheel end) of the block?

it's an AS case 1600TP

what's the diff between the grooved plunger and a plain plunger for the regulator valve?

cheers
Rob

thanks for the info - have fitted new set of short spring with plain plunger to front (control) valve and long spring with plain plunger to rear relief hole and all seems OK - getting better pressure on idle and on 2500rpm than previous - Muir describes the grooved plunger for the single relief as a 1500S fitting suitable for an upgrade for a single relief case - then goes on to describe fitting the grooved plunger in the relief hole for a dual relief case! neither Bentley nor Haynes cover the diff between the grooved or plain plungers so all a bit mysterious to a/c-naive souls like me!

thanks for help
cheers
Rob
