The renewal on my bus came through the other day, and i thought it was a bit over the top really,

HIC want to insure it for the year for £273!!

gave footman james a call and they wanted £357!!!

oh dear, i've got to shop around, i've insured all my dubs for years with HIC but saving money is what its all about!

here are my credentials so we can have a good comparison with you lot!!

31 years old
been driving for 14 years
2 x sp30's (that are nearly 5 years old)
live in a nice area
parked on the drive
LHD
worth £10k
only mods are suspension

does £273 sound good to you? what are you all paying?

cheers

Despite yet another claim free year, to add to the more than 20 so far,
when my renewal came through it had gone up again by alot more than inflation :(

So I changed mine to http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/ this year.

1972 RHD Westy - cost me £114 Fully Comp, inc breakdown and legal expenses cover.
This was less than half of the cost any of the other usual suspects quoted.

I sold the van 1 month later :(

I phoned RH to let them know, not really expecting much back after admin charges etc.
But was pleasently surprised to receive a £96 refund, by cheque within a couple of days :)

Very impressed with RH Insurance.

Shame I don't have a classic to insure anymore :(

Doesn't look as cheap as these dudes ^^^^ but....

I've just renewed with Cherised Campers (advertise on here....)

UK cover, me and the wife - 90 days european cover, UK and Europe breakdown, ulimited mileage, and had an accident 3 years ago.

£160

Loads better than my Footman James premium of over £200 no breakdown last year!

£108.00 fully comp from RH specialist classic in cluding breakdown cover. Age 53 with about a zillion years NCB (but I don't think they count that) :D

try pete best insurance in essex, from memory im paying about £120

i couldnt get a better price from anyone else inc cherish, and they are a decent company too

£104 fully comp with breakdown RH Specialist, £68 for the Beetle same cover.
Parked on drive, rural area 9+ no claims

I am cancelling my insurance with Adrian 'cocks' flux after 3 months.
paid 315 get 67 back, nice!! and will only agree 7K without engineers report???
switching to cherished £142 with agreed value of 9k and 100 xs fully comp me and the mrs

cheers for the advice guys

I`ve got all 3 of my motors with RH Insurance, including the wife`s daily, a golf.
They`ve beaten all other quotes and saved me plenty dosh :D
All full comprehensive with break down cover.
Cheers Paul.

about £180 but restricted to 6,000 miles per annum and no mods

any man who does more than 6k a year in a bay really does live it, and deserves a medal. as for no mods  i couldnt do that.

cherished for me. I don't mind plugging them as they are supporting the site as well. £110, agree valuation, no hassle with them at all, 90 days european etc.

Cherished for me as well. £116 I think it was, agreed value, 1 year NCB but I am 34. They were really helpful and it was easy to set up.

Just gone with cherished a few minutes ago about £158 which is £110 less than Sureterm wanted from us on renewal

1970 lhd westy campmobile with agreed value of £17k, insured with both of us driving.

£180 with Heritage, for 7500 miles PA, 44, six years NCB, agreed value, parked off-road, me and partner driving, breakdown and European. Included suspension mods. Engine mods giving extra 20bhp at wheels (exhaust, twin 34ICTs, hi-ratio rockers) extra £60 per year.

I'm with RH for the ghia and I tried a few, their quote couldn't be touched. Unfortunatly they wouldn't cover me in the bus due to it being parked in the street so I went with Heritage which was £130 for me and the missus, agreed value with a 6000 mile limit. I was well happy with that.
