I have a lovly little van from california with mostly original paint and want to protect it from the wonderful british weather. There are a few areas of surface rust which I was going to paint, not for aesthetic reasons but just to delay the inevitable. I don't realy want it to end up looking like a patch work quilt and so wondered if clear lacquer may be the way to go. If any of the forum members have experience of this, what lacquer to use, suggestions for prep etc, I would be very grateful for some advise.

many thanks

Laquer has no rust inhibiting properties and does not adhere properly to anything other than a compatible basecoat.

Put Ankor Wax on it, I think Tim at Roadhouse Retro and T2D sell it,
