Power issues

Just serviced Monty 1970 westy- new ht leads, oil, plugs, new fuel etc but is really struggling up hills, needs to be 1st gear and is lacking power. He’s been sitting idle for some time-,any obvious things to check to resolve?

Hi there, Have you set the valves and timing?

Check your timing, make sure you're on TDC not the exhaust stroke.

Also if its been sat standing and was fine before I would suspect a gummed up carb/blocked jet
