Hi i have a set of BRM replicas that i am going to fit to my 1970 westy, but what size tyres do you use to clear the rear arch!
I currently have 195 on the rear but i think this will rub the arch

ive got 185/65/15 on my 70 westy

So with the offset on the BRMs i think a 185 tyre will fit just nice!!!! cheers guys

I had 195 x 75 on 14" stock steelies and had no problems.
I couldn't however get them on or off while they were inflated!
No dramas really though as it was always on the hoist so I let em down for that, and if I was going to have to change a flat I kept a can of inlflating puncture repair stuff.

The clearance is just visible here, although I was concentrating more on the scenery.

On my lowered Bay, I welded a little extension on each rear hub harrier to hold a small bottle jack. To get the wheel out, I remove the lower shock bolt and jack the whole thing down. It works pretty well. 185/60/15

My fallback solution was also the mobile phone and the auto club.
A bit of prevention is also not running tyres till they are near bald, I tend to get rid of em well before they need to be replaced.
