A great thread, and here's my contribution!
My place was built in the early 70s, and is a bit of a time warp, with some original fixtures and fittings from the period, such as the kitchen, which was perfect for continuing the retro theme!
Every kitchen has to have a trusty Kenwood! This is identical to the one my mum had. All these years later, I still haven't forgiven her for car booting it!
Then we have the tumble dryer. Now I have a bit of a thing for tracking down exact makes and models of the things I was brought up with (such as my bus of course
), and I was lucky enough to find this 1960 machine (fully working of course!).
The two tins on the top (Oxo and tea leaves) were bought new by my parents, and survived in the garage, for storing screws etc in.
Then there's the old BT phone. When my parents changed theirs in the 80s, to more modern versions, BT (or the GPO or whoever they were back then) took the old ones back, as they were their property.
This phone is identical, even with our old phone number put on it! The case and handset were new old stock (with refurbed innards).
Ok, next up, the TV. Our original Sony was almost identical to the one below (it's big brother if you like). I've always liked these old Sonys, and I have two of them. I bought this from its first owner, and she bought it new, from Rumbelows (remember them?
) in August 1973!
It came with its original earplug (unused) and instruction book.
Another original fitting at my place: The gas fire in the livingroom.
Then there is my record player. I've always loved the old portable ones. I own very little vinyl, so I will have to start collecting!
My retro theme continues into the garden!
Again, this c1967 Qualcast lawn mower is the identical make and model to the one I grew up with. The original was replaced by a horrible modern Flymo. Ok, it was lighter and easier to use, but I loved 'driving' the Qualcast, and its engine was a lovely 'chugger', as opposed to the high reving and noisy Flymo. I remember the Qualcast going in the skip too! I guess my parents couldn't keep everything, as much as I wanted them to!
This particular machine had pretty much been in the same family from new when I got it. It came with the petrol can that had always been used with it, and also some of the original paperwork and its manuals!
