Who sells the best seatbelts?
The front belts are shocking, 1 is a 3 point fixed belt and the other is a inertia belt but not as i know one to be.
The bottom is the inertia real but its then fitted at the top, i always thought it was an inertia at the bottom then looped upto the top and secured back at the bottom (like a loop) The way it is currently means the inertia adjusts from the bottom where as i always thought you adjusted from the top (hope that makes sense)
Also need 2 for the rear seat (3/4 RnR)
Any recommendations???

P.S. This is all thats left before i risk an MOT ;)

I got some securon ones from ebay off these folk: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/kcponline/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Easy to fit and came pretty quick

Replaced all mine with Securon belts, Fitted 4 off front belts, 2 in the front and 2 in the rear. The rear 2 are T25 front belts as they are a little longer to get across the rear seat and through the cupboard, also using front belts means I could make a shoulder height belt in the rear seats on both sides.

where are the upper (shoulder) attachment brackets from?

have you got a similar bracket in the cupboard?

Froggy - you'll only need belts for the front for MOT, I'm guessing you know this already?

Are the 500/45 long enough?, the 500/CV are a great length but the buckle stalk has a bent end :shock: which I'm guessing won't work.....?

I baught some securons last week too, replaced the original front inertia belts. Cheapest i found was Justkampers £36 each

I bought front belts for the rear but then bought new lower parts with seatbelt webbing because as you say front belts only come with the steel cord type which is no good for the rear seats. Probably cost more and I needed to strip the whole interior out to make the bracket behind the cupboard, but certainly piece of mind knowing the kids have proper belts fitted that go over there shoulders without falling down

the 500/45 are only 290cm long the stalk length is 45cm, the 500/cv is 376cm long, which I figured would be better in the front where you may want to lean forward quite a way??

does anyone have the 500/45 's and completely happy with their range of movement?

I made some very sturdy brackets, which I may add to this thread for reference....one in the wardrobe and one to extend the belt top on the non wardrobe side, plus a bracket under the bed to take a middle lapbelt.....

awesome thanks

the tight fisted in me has seen there is a couple of people selling the 500/cv's for around £20 + £3-5postage, but the stalk end is bent over not sure if you could oxy/acetylene it straight?

I used a set out of a metro to get us going and safe, but they are not long enough and so restrictive on the front belts...the rears seem to work for my kids.

I have securons in the front (now) and they came from JK at £35 ish pounds and turned up pdq :mrgreen:

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,, Now with mot,,,,, (who else is he gonna tell???????) :lol: 8) :lol:

Hi,

I have IIRC the 500/45 ones, in beige, and i use this for the front seat http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Securon-227-Seat-Belt-Extender-/260679964376?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cb1bc96d8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As the baby seat needs just a little more belt to fit around correctly, I use this on the front passenger seat, and the girlfriend sits on the Bluebird middle seat.

I use the standard 500/45 on my drivers seat and it's fine. They are quite tight when new, but will ease off a little after use.

The extender may be usefull if you have the inertia reel mounted out of the way for the rear seats or suchlike. I have yet to fix a 3 pointer in the rear, will probably do just the RHS, as I will never get around to fabricating a bracket to fix behind the wardrobe!

Cheers,

Alistair

I have the 500/45's in the front and I've never had an issue with range of movement

The belts currently fitted have an extender fitted to then but i have removed these as would prefer a complete belt :?
Managed to adjust the fronts so i now have 1 3 point fixed belt but need to sort something out for the passenger side.
Think i'm going to get some from JK (or ebay) for the fronts to get the MOT and then i can sort out the rears later

This is a really useful thread i'd like to move to Tech sticky section. Some good stuff on what to choose, lengths etc.

I'll wait a while till the thread has dropped down a few pages.
