Solex h30/31 pict carb

This is the carb currently fitted to my 1600 TP engine. Which is being a pain. Are they any good? Should I switch to something else? By pain I mean timing is right carb is set as per book it's been cleaned had new gaskets. It fires up runs on choke then dies. I'm reading they are not the best carbs to have. Can't really afford weber at the moment

dont the 31 fit a 1300 twin port beetle :? with the differnt manifold to the 1600 twin port

That's what thought. This was on the bus when I bought it. Need to look out for a 34. Cheers for info sometimes reading manuals gives info blindness

think you mite need the bit the carb sits on aswell

Cheers. I just spoke to my mate he reminded me there is a 34 under the van. We have been kicking it around for a couple of weeks :shock: better start being nice to it.
