My 71 deluxe is in need of a new headliner. Struggled to find anywhere close to me (Scarborough) that can just supply and fit.

I have found a localish upholsterer with a good reputation who reckon they can do it so going to call by so they can take a closer look.

Next step would be sourcing the replacement liner....been the delux bus it also extends down to just under the side windows. Can anyone recommend a supplier where I can source everything we'll need??

Cheers
Craig

I used these guys - really helpful, really good material - I did a full replacement on my Devon early bay, was a steep learning curve but it went OK and it's survived 2 years of frequent usage and camping trips to hot places without sagging or coming unstuck (unlike me!) I used double sided carpet tape to fit the perforated vinyl on some of the pillar and window surrounds instead of glue and it worked a lot better that way. I also used self-adhesive neoprene sheet as a backing over the larger voids in the roof all around the pop top opening, before stretching the headliner across and this makes it feel a lot firmer and also cuts the noise and condensation...

Thanks Rob/Alex

Alex... Can you confirm part no. As link opens to many items. I did see sun visors / hinge covers etc, forget about those!

It depends on your model year and also what material you want it made from,

Presuming you want it stock and also that your van is a 71 model:

I've recently fitted a tmi to my sunroof and I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself,it's awkward and the fabric is pretty generic so needs lots of cutting and altering

Thanks Alex... Correct :0)

Yeah think I gave in with ideas of trying it myself some time ago!

I got my headliner fitted earlier this year in a specialist in Ireland.

I bought a headliner from Wolfsburg West and it was a great fit, quality is very good.

hello
got mine from ebay £150
cant remember the guys name but he is from just outside Norwich
came with enough material to fit around all the window appetures and glue
fitted it myself as I was quoted up to £500 to have it fitted
having never tried anything like this before i took my time and am well chuffed with how it turned out
the way I looked at it in the worst case I would be £150 down if I goofed it up
norm :D
