Heavy snow yesterday, wife says "you can work on the van this morning..."
did a few little jobs to the engine while I wait for a delivery from VW Heritage, and took some photos with my phone.

Cheers Stu, did some more work today,
swappped over the rh cylinder head as the one fitted had been welded...

trial fitted my tinware...

the offending cylinder head...

removed the fuel tank to clean out the soil...

lovely dirty fuel tank...

a guy stopped and came over to have a chat while I was working on it today, he's got a crossover bay

Started assembling engine, nice stainless steel fittings and new gaskets, nearly ready to refit...

just need to spray some wax in the fuel tank housing and refit the tank with nice new hoses.
Will be glad to hear it running again :mrgreen:

Bit more progress, dinitroled the fuel bay and tank,

Looking super tidy back there now.. good to see it going back together.

Cheers Willk, I'll be glad when it's all back in and running, hoping to get it to the mot garage by the end of March. Then I can make a start on the interior. It'll be good to have a vehicle again on the road again

Ordered a battery tray from Autocraft, well impressed with quality...

out with the old, in with the new... edges sprayed with weld thru primer...

Engine all working smoothly now thanks to type2tattoo supplying a nice working carb

the other carb was impossible to tune as the choke(top) spindle was so worn :|

not much in the way of photos but the last few weeks have seen me weld the o/s front step,refit bumpers ,fit spotties, start refitting interior and general tinkering for mot. Oh, fit some new balljoint boots too. Had it all running nicelybut think some dirt has bocked the ile jet :? (there's always something :roll: )
