We curently have the spare wheel on the front of our 72 Dormobile. I would like to replace the holder for a VW badge but i am unsure how to go about it with out spoiling the front and ending up with to many holes.

Is it for example ok to use the existing 4 holes that hold the wheel mount.

Any sugestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks. :D

The holes are 162mm apart and the holes for the badge are about 5mm in diamiter, the badge is 20mm thick around the edge so you have a bit to play with if your holes are different,Hope this helps

Thanks for the information and diagram. I will have a look on sunday weather permitting.

Is it an original dormobile front wheel bracket?
If it is when you take it off you should find that the holes are in the right place to fit a badge, the only difference is that the badge holes were enlarged by dormobile & then they fitted a threaded fitting (the name of which escapes me at the moment) into the hole, so you will need to find a way to make the badge stay put as the threaded hole is too small for the correct badge clips but too bog to hold the badge properly.
Hope that makes sense?

That sounds like excellent news. It is definately an original front and has the 4 holes that you describe. I cant wait to try it. Thanks :D
