I'm in the process of installing a new starter motor and have just removed the old one. The inside of the bell housing where the end of the new starter motor will go seems to have dirt and debris lining it. Should I have a go at cleaning this off or leave it be? I'm worried if I try to clean it I might knock crap into the engine.

Cheers

Yeah, I could squeeze a hoover nozzle in there and give it a suck  a bit of stealthy manoeuvring is in order I reckon :msn4:

Just don't let SWMBO catch you using her hoover to hoover your flywheel

That's almost as bad as using the dishwasher as a parts cleaner !!!!
