hi all, does anyone know what the static timing should be for the first start of a 2332 motor? it is all new with 044 heads ,engle 120 cam, 48idas. it has a bosch 009 with ignitor in it. Question - There is a degree pulley on that has all the numbers on it , with this lined up with the split on the crank case showing the correct ?timing - ignition on , no1 lead removed with a spark plug touching earth, I think if I slowly turn the dizzy until it sparks then all should be well? any advice will be really appreciated thankyou.

That method is a little crude but should work. As long as you time the engine at TDC or up to 7.5 degrees BTDC then it should start. Then the strobe light will do the rest.
