Can I get away with filling the steering box with grease as attempt as the seals have gone but there no issues with the box just that I want to use the van this weekend

Grease may not be such a good idea in your steering box. It really needs 80/90 hypoy oil like you throw in your gearbox to lube it. With oil it can splash around a bit and keep coating everything that`s rubbing together and all the crap can sink to the bottom. With grease it will keep the crap suspended in your moving parts and may or may not `splash' about inside. Also with oil, you`ll know when you`ve filled it but it may be a little hit and miss with grease as to what you actually have forced in  OOoooerrr Mrs

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Just my thoughts

No ep oil allows for the hypoid gears grease will be blown out through the seals if your seals are already shot then your asking for trouble
