That's a different matter.
The JK forum was shut because it was on a commercial website, and the traffic didn't warrant the server and associated costs.
I didn't get any warning it was shutting, otherwise I would have saved the technical archives.

I would pay £5 a year. Happily. I know it’s been a long winter but this place seems to be getting very quiet. Not that it bothered me but hate to see this forum go the same way as JK

So would I.Make it fair and charge all,not just those that want to donate, same for every body.

Sparky I think I remember you posting before you would have saved the tech info and I agree there was some gold on there, some of the stickies were awesome helped me put my windows in and refurb my seats all done with pictures and great descriptions. My point was I saw the demise of that forum as less and less people posted. Although, and this is just my opinion I didn’t think it was a very friendly forum. Unlike this one which is very welcoming.

Which I realise has nothing to do with subs. So to get back on track as I have gone off on a tangent, I’m easy on subs if it keeps the forum open. If your just going to charge for adds then that’s ok but I don’t think this should be coming out of MODS pockets. So if we have to pay an annual subscription then that is ok to.

I don't mind paying £5. Their is a wealth of archived knowledge on here. Big shout out to the moderators for doing this site for what might at times might seem a thankless task. You great job!

We have always said we would never go down the route of subs for membership, that wont change but if you are making money off the site buying selling its only fair to give a tiny bit back.

We are grateful for all those who donate and the sponsors who take out advertising. We don't make anything as it all goes back into the site in the ways Clem has mentioned.

Same as Jinx and agree should be a fee to sell stuff.

I personally don't know where I stand on this - so have just donated £10 using the donate function above. For the help, advice and campervan **** its a bargain. Keep at it folks :)

And thanks to the moderators who surely do us all a great favour

Same as,

Ozziedog,,,,,,,only if you want to

I’ve been away from the forum for a few years due to “life events” and am now back. I joined not long after it started and it has been a fantastic source of information and advice. I’ve also met a few great people off of here too. It would be a great shame if we lost this. I’ve made a small donation - hope it helps and others that can, do. Cheers, Andy

I didn’t think so originally but this has turned into my favourite thread on general at the moment.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,tis good , so thanks

thanks to everyone who has contributed, not my favorite either but everyone is due an explanation as to why we have to make changes.

I too have been absent for a while, but will be using this valuable resource a lot this year as my 'van under goes another 'refresh' after I originally rebuilt it 10 years ago.

Using a proper web page/internet forum is a damn site easier to navigate than FB!

Donation made...

Hope all are well.

Cheers,
Jim
