I use a Kelty Carport - There are different sizes available. I have the smaller one.

Here is a Google image search for it -

Jenni made ours, not that difficult and it means you can use whatever fabric you want. Got the connection strip for the gutter off Jeffrey at BusOK.

Cheers, Jen found a site on the internet that gave the basic instructions and it worked, as I say you can choose whatever fabric you want and we've sprayed this one with waterproofing spray but it is meant as a sun canopy :) (but we do live in the UK)

Do you know which site helped her out? I've had a look but don't really know what I'm looking for :oops:

we got ours from here;

http://www.the-bus-shelter.com/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

they have quite a few colours to choose from, nice to have on the odd days of sunshine :lol: and only take a few minutes to put up.

This was last year at camperjam;

This is my home made sun canopy. A tarp with some tent poles, a figure of 8 gutter trim and some guy ropes, and finished off with a wind break. It works a treat. (also at Camperjam)

Hi Paul. A bit like sacramentobay I went the diy route also and just bought a sail sun canopy of ebay, and some extending poles and guy ropes from a camping shop. You can tie it to the bus, or some trees, or tent, or even outside your house :) Cost about £45 in total.

What about this one from NLAVW westfalia style ,looks period think this is what im going for ;)

It's probably the one I'm looking for too, something to match the pop top canvas. The only thing about half these sun shades, is that they don't seem to do much shading? Their product shots only highlight the lack of shading!

The shading they can achive is limited by the size of them and entirely depends on the relevant position of the sun I guess. Ive just bought a second hand Westy one, like the NLA ones are styled on, and its as much about creating some 'personal space' by the van as much as any sun or rain shade ... if that makes sense?

That was the one I went for last year. I really like it, it's OK for shade, but you do find yourself moving quite a bit to keep out of the sun :)

Didn't last too well in the gales at Vdub Island either!

Now to do something about that windbreak.........
