put super unleaded in the bus today. it may just be my imagination but it ran a sh** load better. pulling better on hills and top speed was another whole 5mph faster. Is there a case for using super unleaded over normal? Supermarket over named fuel. I would be interested to hear peoples views.

Super unleaded actually contains a lower calorific value per volume than normal unleaded. The only benefits to using it are cars that are prone to pinking, either with highly tuned engines or turbo'd motors where a higher octane rating will reduces the risk of this. Also, there tends to be more cleaning additives in super, but the benefits to this are likely to only be seen over longer periods of time. Personally, I'd avoid super due to the increased ethanol content - we all know what effect that has on our fuel lines...

I looked into this and tried it a few years ago. Suggest the difference you've noticed is because your timing is out. Go back to regular fuel and have a tune up and it should be much the same as your getting on super....
