I am having a few problems with my lights and just can't fix it even though I have tinkered for a few nights.

1971 US spec.

Lights turned off, both brake lights work fine.

Tail lights on, hit brake lights and right one goes out?? Left still works fine?

I have cleaned where it earths and even put a new earth wire on. Also cleaned up the light and bulb holder and fitted new bulb. The springs for the bulb didn't have much spring to them??

Next problem, thought worth mentioning incase something to do with brake lights.

Left indicators works fine but when I use the right side they flash really fast even though both bulbs are flashing ( not out)? I Thought it may be the lever as it makes a bit of a buzzing noise when I turn from the left to the right? It's a bit wobbly too and hard to keep up  haha.
The hazard button works them all fine.

Any help/advice would be very welcome, cheers.

One light going out when another is activated is usually a sign of a bad earth.
Fast indicators are usually a sign of a deffective lamp - again bad earth?

I think you're on the right track looking at your earths.

I had exact same with my indicator. On US spec indicators there are two filaments in the front indicator bulb. I think one is side light one is indicator, if you connect to the wrong one it flashes real fast.

Try pulling the wire of the back of the front right indicator and attaching it to the other terminal

Thanks for your advice, I have had the lights out again and cleaned everything up but still no good. I tried switching the wires on the back of the tail/ brake light bulb but left light still goes out when I hit the brake lights. When the tail lights are off both brake lights work fine.

Couple of pics, just incase someone spots something I am doing stupid. ( I used a bit of black wire for temp earth wire on the right hand side incase anyone wonders)
Left side

Right side

Here is the wiring diagram I am trying to go by?
