I've just bought a set of temp/pressure senders and gauges for our van. However, was told by somebody that the sump plate mounted temp sender won't fit properly due to fouling on the oil filter. He suggested I buy a dipstick type one.
Does anybody have any experience with this as I bought the lot from the States for £67 (from guy on ebay - user name vaircooledw in case anybody is interested) and the dipstick sender alone is £30 from JK, so will be gutted if I have to go down that route.

Any help appreciated,
Cheers Frazer.

The dipstick sender is for VDO guage. Are the guages you bought VDO?

If so I have a brand new dipstick sender I'm willing to sell half price.

The senders have to be matched to the guage and my guages were not VDO's hence the sender is surplus to me.

Pm me if your interested.

If I remember rightly it wasnt so much the gauze filter as being the problem more the pickup tube being obstructed which is a worse scenario, although this isnt always the case best to judge for yourself....
