Looks good, I have a pack of dinitrol wax and black stuff with the spray gun. I'm just wondering the best way to get at the underside. Did you put the while bus on stands or do one side at a time?

I've got a set of tall/jacking ramps that allowed me under. Local garage said I could use their ramp on a saturday morning and next time I think I'll take them up on that offer. It would be a LOT easier with the van above me

FYI, Ive got a set of these https://cjautosheywood.co.uk/product/hydraulic-drive-on-car-ramps-900kg-cr01/

Thanks, another question, did you cover everything with dinitrol, or are there areas that should be avoided?

Hi

i was pretty careful with it all, avoiding things like grease nipple, rubber, shocks, brakes, wiring (where possible), electrical bits and pieces, servo etc (basically I tried to hit just the steel with it). I would avoid any steel brake pipes you've got as you then can't tell how corroded they are, and Ive had Mot advisories for this in the past (not a problem with my replacements being a copper alloy). I used some scrap plastic packaging around the brakes and brown paper and masking tape elsewhere (including the driveway)

Now I’m envious of your trip [emoji6] We love France, contemplating taking Winnie there next year [emoji106]

Yes. Living in York the trip to the south coast is a bit of a pain, but once there it was great. Would definitely go back to same area

Think that’s the bit I’m finding the most daunting, we’re just south of Preston. Not concerned about the van not making it down there, just wondering how long to allow so I can think about best time for setting off. I guess you’ve just got to go for it [emoji106]

Great pics btw

Great trip to France, looks like a nice area. We went to a site at Trelevern ‘seven isles’ in the north and then one at Douarnenez camping Huttopia last year.

It takes us a day and a half just to get to Portsmouth! [emoji31][emoji23]
( we are near Newcastle upon Tyne)

Us northerners might have a long treck south, but we do have good access to the UK's good bits.... This is me in September waking up after an evening of biking. 0600 and I know I'll be washed and dressed and at work for 0900!!! Can't beat the freedom these old vans give you

In May 2019 we took a trip back home to the Motherland, stopping on the north side of the Solway, then Mull, Ardnamurchan and Arisaig

with a bit of sea kayaking and wild camping thrown in

was a great trip, and with these long nights at the moment its difficult to believe just how long the sun is in the sky in the North of Scotland in the summer!

need to get some more trips planned....

Van looks great [emoji106]. Nice trip I love Scotland.

What is that container on the roof rack?

A 5 litre can we use for waste water. Keeps campsites clean and stops us trampling through our own dishwater suds. I could probably manage to put a bar back on the roof rack...

I know what you mean about using a container for the waste water, much better than it just running on the ground particularly if camping more than one night.
I use a black 6litre engine oil container ( bought for waste water of course never had any oil in it!) When in transit it goes under the bench seat, after being emptied at the grey water station.
