USA Trip October 2010

Just got back from the US after spending a week in California on the hunt for buses, theres a few random shots so hope you like them, some f the ones featured have been acquired and will be coming to these shores in the future.

Managed a trip to Octo yesterday as well so once I've uploaded those to photobucket will post them up as well, its a split bus meet but theres a few bays as well :mrgreen:

You just got to love that rear view mirror and this is the bus its on and its for sale!!

A few Rear Bumpers & Moustache Bars on there way back soon

There are still cab doors to be had if you know where to look, let me know if you need any as I can get them shipped in a bus I've bought, all I'd say is don't expect bargain prices

Its had a replacment front end at some point but will be swapped once it gets back to the UK :mrgreen:

for those that don't know about it its a Split Bus meet and swapmeet in a school car park at Huntingdon Beach, a bit like Slough swapmeet but with sun and palm trees................no on second thoughts its nothing like Slough :lol: :lol:

I saw the dutch couple with the Miele Bus 3 times in a week, they followed me round cali and tried to run me over at Octo :mrgreen: , the bus is heading to Holland after their trip, it was in old logos and signwriting a couple of years ago but the owners (Miele themselves I think) decided it would be a good idea to redo it with modern graphics DOH

[The Miele Bus]

Hi Graham!! I didn’t try to run over you.. you were just in the way! All the time! and everywhere!!! LOL
Nice to have met you. Shame you had to catch a plane so soon, we should have gotten a few beers.

The story on the Miele bus: We spotted it 2 years ago when we were also travelling California in an early bay. The owner has a shop in Beverly Hills since the 70’s and used the bus for delivery for 20+ years. He didnt want to sell it in 2008, but a few months ago i called him a he wanted to sell at last..
To bad he didnt mention the new horrible sticker job all over the bus.. I’m glad the old logoes are still under the current stickers! I’ll take then off when it’s in Amsterdam.
It even had a giant baby on the front pass. door and a dog on a carpet on the other door.
Ofcourse both were decapitated immediately after collecting the bus... It was too embarressing to drive with..!! Really..
Bus will be dropped 3”, freeway flyer, etc. etc..
It will be at some european shows next summer..
My split bus needs a some serious maintnance and modifying so it won’t be on the road for quite a while.. I don’t mind driving the bay.. Drives like a champ!
