Volksworld Camping For the Line up

Following Clem's suggestion here's a Volksworld Camping thread!!!

I'll be in the line up for both days and would appreciate camping in the same area as the rest of you guys.

As it stands at the moment I was planning on driving down on the Saturday morning and then goig to the campsite at the end of the day, the probably with this is that there will probably be precious little space left.

My son is coming with me and I think he will be disappointed if we're not with, or at least near, the rest of the EarlyBay gang. If we could arrange something so that early arrivals could "blag" some space then this would be appreciated.

I'm just really trying to start the discussion here.

It's possible that I could arrive on the Friday, but it means hitting all the traffic around the M25 .

perhaps the friday stayers might be able to bag a pitch - it's probably worth emailing the contact re club camping anyway - it's in the magazines won't post on here.

this thread can get numbers which will obviously help with logistics

Yes it'd be good to camp together - or at least hang out with new mates...

i'll be there on Friday afternoon. Would be nice to hook up with folk so i can get the drive-away pitched. I'm in the lineup both days as well so ill probably just leave the van there both nights. There are a few of us in the same boat.

This was the response I've received:

I will sort you out a reserved area by the entrance that will be roped off so you can get in and out quickly, I am going to investigate opening the ski centre gate so you do not need to go on the road which should speed up your entry and exit, will report back to you on this one.

How many would want to camp in this area?

I'd be up for this as well, I presume they are talking about the hardstanding area to the right of the main entrance road, I think some of the traders camped there last year. I think thats the only place it can be if they are saying not having to go out onto the road as the entrance to normal camping is down a side road. May be worth double checking exactly where they are suggesting.

Nice easy walk to the pub from there 8)

Er......if it is hard standing this is no good for me as i have a massive tent so i might have to go on my own (come on James be a brave little soldier)

I'll ask the question about tents...either that or get re-inforced tent pegs and a pneumatic drill!!!!

Grass is good for me I'll be down earlyish as i want to make as much of the weekend as possible (4 hours drive from Sheffield :shock: ) so if there is anything i can do to help if i'm one of the first there just let me know, i don't mind helping out
