wanted devon roof pop top not to far from birmingham if pos 40 miles ish
my one has been painted with some sort of rubber paint and is a mess
my van is now nearly finnished but need to sort the pop top

yes i would say its proberly to keep water water out but it looks a mess
even if i put a cap over it you will see it
and after 3years hard work i would like to see it as best as it can be
thanks for the reply
cheers martin

just kampers do a roof cap which completely covers the old roof. i have one on mine at the moment. you cant see any of the original roof.

Can't you clean all the rubber paint off, bond some vinyl on top "would only cost about £45-£50 from a car trimmers" and fit a new seal.

well thats worth thinking about , if i have no joy getting a spare roof top
but would like to get a replacement if pos to keep the original look .
cheers martin

surely strip it back and have it re-gel'd is the cheaper option as long as its otherwise in reasonable nic

I'll get you some pics tomorrow afternoon if I can - it's got the white fibreglass sides and an aluminium elevating roof, it has the original bellows although they're sure to be cracked in places.

As for price, it's yours for a crate of beers!! :D

;)

I've go a Danbury Poptop which I think is very similar to the Devon and its in Tamworth at my unit if its any good to you??

If not no problems but thought I would offer

thanks graham for the offer but i allready have all the new parts for the devon poptop ready to put on
cheers martin

Here you go, not the greatest of pics but it's tricky as there isn't much room between the van roof and the garage roof - you should get the gist...

You can see here where I took a little of the paint off to check the condition of the alu underneath - should clean up nicely I'd have thought:

This is one of the few outside pics I have of the van:

Obviously needs new seals, but it's practically free so what do you expect? It's the type without a roof vent so leakage shouldn't be a problem although I can't vouch for it as I've never taken it out camping or anything

Anyway, there it is - if you'd like it you can have it, if not I know a little pixie that might go for 2nd dibs so no pressure 8) 8)

;)

that will be great thanks i am away till sunday evening but will definately contact you then regards martin
