Washer jet switch

Hello. My 68 washer switch doesn't work bottle will hold water/ pressure ... but as I pressurise the bottle it will just come straight out the jets so working on that end. And if I take the end of the switch, water will just come through there. Could I be missing something or has the switch just had it.... the push in centre seems to not do a lot but I'm not sure how it should work

I have a thread about this below. I had the same issue...as soon as I got enough pressure it would just flow out continuously... got it working today, as another member suggested my switch was sticking "in" in so I just twisted the knob off and pulled out the centre piece and put it back in and screwed it back up. Added the pressure and more water and it worked fine!
