Fired Leela up after trickle charging her dead flat battery overnight. She took about 30 seconds of turning over then cough, cough, dub, dub dubdub, dub, dubdub, dub. dub, dub! Lovely!!. After well over a year of nothingness! Don't worry girl, we'll have you on the road this year... and soon! :D

Fitted some new wheel bearings to the front end (bit rumbly after our easter break to cornwall)

Hi Matt,

Unfortunately, my bearing failed on the way to Newquay on hols last evening, shame it didn't last 48hrs, but Rich @ Restohaus sorted it this morning - top job, but severely minus on browny points with Linda now due to epic tow truck recovery

Gear linkage and brakes to faff with tomorrow

Alistair

Travelled to Salisbury to see a man about an interior for Boris.
Then travelled to Crossways Dorset to see another man about an interior for Boris.
Supper/Dinner/Tea? in Dorchester then home .
Productive day. New interior in by August (we hope).

Oh wow, that's the middle strengthening layer of the sill you can see there. The inner piece has completely rotted away.

That's gonna need a fair amount of work I'm afraid - but it'll be worth it in the end. If you're doing the work yourself, I'd remove one pan at a time, starting with the one that looks worst. I find each side took me several days welding, so if I'd removed the whole lot in one I'd probably have lost Mojo by not being able to drive it for a few months. :)

Good luck!

Thanks for the good luck wishes dude thankfully I won't be doing it myself and the thing is my mot is due on the 1st may so I won't be able to use her for a couple of weeks anyway.
I've just had a lower half respray too so that was a complete waste of time :( .
So now I need to look at ordering repair panels I was thinking of using schofields and what panels is it just an inner and outer on the offside also jacking points and outriggers I know I won't really know until I take the belly pan off.

Thanks for the reply

The (outer) sills are 3 sections - you can see the Schofields 'kit' has all 6 pieces for both sides:

This is the inner section:

You can see it through the holes in the middle section:

The outer skin is the bodywork:

A few people do miss out the central skin, but it's amazing the difference it makes to how stiff the bus feels. I've just finished the passenger side of mine, and with both sides replaced the bus feels a lot more taut now, despite mine being less rotten than yours to begin with. :)

Cool thanks for the pics so would you say go for the kit and did you have many issues fitting them.
Sorry for all the questions

Mark
