What did you do with your early bay today

I didn't buy the kit, I bought a few of the bits 'secondhand' (new panels bought through this forum & VZi) to reduce costs, and used Genuine VW panels where available. (I think inner and outer skins are available Gen VW and fit RHD buses, but I wouldn't swear to it)

To do it properly, you'll probably find you need to repair the metal anywhere it touches, including the front-most part of the rear wheelarches, and the rear of the front wheelarch tubs...

I had to replace this bit of bodywork (gloss black), as it is easier to repair the inner and middle skins properly with it removed.

I've not got a decent photo, but the fronts of the sills should be visible (but closed off) in the front wheelarch tub, just above the front outrigger/jacking point - you can just see it here:

Edit: This pic isn't mine, but shows the end of the sill - the square bit with the hole in on the bottom LHS. The metal sections sticking out towards the front of the bus are the ends of the sills.

I moved 3 of the 4 sound exciters in my bus.
I did have 2 mounted in the door skin, 1 on the drives bulk head and 1 on the inner roof skin(Westy/sunroof bus)

I now have 2x on the air box's under the dash and 1 on each bulk head.
Much improved sound just need to save up and upgrade the front ones to the higher wattage ones.

Love your headliner!

I spent the day trying to retrofit drain tubes to the sunroof on my ex-westy. To anyone that's considering it, don't do it! 3 done, 3 to go, and I haven't got a clue how i'm gonna get the tube down the passenger side front pillar!!

Nearly broke my finger, and snapped my breaker bar trying to undo the flywheel bolt!

Had both wheel arches welded inside today!!!
Rear brakes over weekend(hopefully) Thanks Alex.
And maybe a few other accumulated bits.

Went out for a drive in my van thismorning for a couple of hours.
May have pissed my missus off doing so as she hasnt spoken to me for the rest of the day.
Still, every cloud.....

Took part in the annual Ipswich to Felixstowe vintage vehicle run for the second year, this year the camper had a new coat of paint.

Removed oil breather box that was fitted by PO and returned setup to stock including new rocker covers. I suspect this is the source of my oil leak.

^^^ Nice "new" bumper and even better plate!

I was cleaning out the garage and realised that not only did my panel van come from Belgium ... so did this bag of parts. This bus has been in Canada for decades and the bag survived all this time!
