Hi

Ordered a 34ICT kit for my 1600SP for some more power to tow my puck. Can I keep my 'Vac' Dizzy which is running contactless ignition and just block off the vac pipe, or, shall I change to a 009 unit? If I can run the Vac unit will the timing have to be adjusted, tips please.

Thanks

Just

if you run the vac unit you wont have any advance, i run my 34ICTs with a 009 (with electric ignition) and it runs superb. If its anything like what happened to me you will see much better fuel economy!

Thanks Luke just what I suspected. Are the Repro 009s any good?

I am sure you can run a stock dizzy with ICT's. I am sure they have a vacuum pipe.

Ok well unless any1 can confirm either way ill hold fire on getting a 009........

I have ICT's and a vac advanced distributor, there is a vac pipe from the ICT's. I originally had a bosch 009 fitted but suffered from the infamous flat spot so go hold of vac dizzy and it now runs sweetly. Many people seem happy with a 009 but my preference is the SVDA, having tried both. Hope this helps.

I have a vac dizzy on my 34icts and works like a charm. 009 = No! ;)

I always thought twin carbs would'nt run with a vac advance dizzy unless you link all the advance signals together. The 009 has served me well with twin 40's.

Not so - one signal is fine. :)

I received the kit next day from Eurocarb, great service, there are loads of parts  and the instructions sound over complicated........recon im gonna need a good day stripping the old one off then fitting this.
