Anyone got any tried and tested recomendation for good shocks for my 72.
Its been lowered 1 notch at the back and approx 4" at the front but still has a lot of body roll on corners and roundabouts, Im still running steelies with 195/75 14 tyres (I know the size of tyre wall dont help).
I dont really want to change the stock wheels or white wall tyres so was hoping people could give advice on stiffer shocks to stop the boat in a storm feeling :?: .

Uprating your shocks is a good idea - but check your anti-roll bar (and bushes) first - it's not unheard of for the bar to shear...

;)

cheers, Had a look and the bar and bushes seem to be in good nic. Any recomendations on shocks (front and rear)

I used uprated Beetle rear shocks on the front of my old van. That rode nice.

cool, I was thinking of using bug rear gas cofabs up front and cofab oil (as I cant find gas rears) bus rears :?

Do you reckon this should firm up the suspension, I quite happy to sacrafice the soft ride for good handling (cornering)

hi, I have the same problem but with the front wheels.
Mine is lowered with wagenswest lowered spindles, running on stock 185/80 R14 tires and stock shocks.
Maybe I will change the front tires to 185/60 R14.

new shocks made the difference for me....its all in here.
