What's the correct indicator stork for a 71 deluxe?

Further detective work progress - the samba.com confirms that 211 953 513 G is a chrome stalk switch - which x referencing the vw parts book confirms that it is possible for a US / Canadian 71 my to have a chrome lever (but not a non US / Canadian van - like mine)

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=580238" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The SWF codes with 69 and 71 on them seemed too coincidental with possible production years but I have now found splitty switches with SWF HLS 65 and SAE QB 67 on them - surely a pattern emerging?! SWF codes apparently included intended production dates (years)

Fortunate Son,
Superb investigation work! My bus is a Californian vehicle, and I'm now non the wiser. I'm going to send an e-mail to Camper & Bus, ask that gimlet-eyed German bloke "Hans" what he thinks. He's usually sharper than a serpent's tooth

My '71 MY has a chrome, bullet-ended stalk.
My '72 (early Crossover) isn't chromed and has a fatter, flatter end.

I have another chrome, bullet stalk kicking around at home that I have been saving so I will try check the part numbers on that at some point (when I eventually get down to the bus again  )

LV, I quite liked the Columbo / cow reference ;) !!!, keep us posted on your man Hans's advice, then we should get this stickied up somewhere as indicator stalks seem to be one of those parts that VW chucked all different types on.

Cheers

Andy

FS,
One has to be careful, offence is so easily caused. :msn4:

I shall update you soon. E-mail fired off today.

I've got a SWF electrical accessory catalogue from 1972 currently en route to me from Germany. The sample page I saw on the website where it was advertised seemed to have a symbol at the top of the page that I took to be indicator switches, so there might be some relevant information to be had from it when it arrives.
From the same source I recently also got a SWF wiper arms/blades catalogue also from '72 with lots of useful part number info for my favourite parts fetish.

SWF catalogue = "the dollocks".

The SWF catalogue I that I alluded to above has now arrived from Germany.
Under indicator switches it lists the following:
Bus 4.'55 to 5.'60 = LS 200 266
Bus 6.'60 to 7.'61 = HLS 200 210
Bus 8.'61 to 7.'64 = HLS 200 346
Bus 8.'64 to 7.'65 = HLS 200 346
Bus 8.'65 to 7.'66 = HLS 200 564
Bus 8.'66 to 7.'67 = HLS 200 564
Bus 8.'67 to 7.'68 = HLS 200 915
Bus 8.'68 to 7.'70 = HLS 200 915
Bus 8.70 on = HLS 200 964
(* in '72 the paddle shaped one was introduced which from my own records is HLS 201 096)
These would be their part numbers for the complete unit.
Doesn't help re the chrome or not debate.
I think you could be onto something there Andy re the production date numbers. A '72-'74 paddle indicator switch that passed through my hands had HLS 73 DOT SAE QB 72 stamped on the underside of the paddle.

Hello sir,

I found out that you have a 1972 SWF catalogue for wiper arms/blades.

I am looking for the part number of SWF wiper blades for my NSU Wankelspider, 1965

Also the length of the wipers. Is it 28,5 mm or 30,4 mm

Can you help me?

LV - out of interest, what is the part no on your nos stalk? (And how many wires does it have?)

It has 7 wires. I'll throw a picture up in a moment.

Here she is:

This is the NOS one I have, which is identical to the one on the 71 bus when I bought it.

I have a crossover built in 71 with the same all black indicator, DVLA just registered it on a J plate for 71

The box is not original, its sort of square, the original box is more oblong . The German guy I bought it off (Willem Bezzler) would not include the box in the sale. The picture is from my hard drive records, but I'll get the stalk out on the weekend (in lock up). It should have a number on it?

As my NOS one came
