Little point in fitting spindles to a standard beam if it is already lowered on adjusters.

With a standard beam and dropped spindles you will find that the bus bottoms out and the wheels hit the lowest part of the inner arch.
The way round this is to fit Gaz coilovers or Air shocks but I think you will end up with the ride very stiff ride to stop hitting the inner arch.

If you want to go lower I would be investing in a narrowed beam dropped spindles and decent shocks or air shocks.

Don't want to dishearten you, these were the issues I ran into.

It's cool Sam you ain't disheartened me ;-) , that's great advice and much appreciated ! After all that's what this forum is all about .
I think I am going to have to do some more research during the show season before I do anything else , I've been wondering if I should just out the beam with the adjusters anyway as I don't really like the idea of how adjusters work anyways .
I don't want to slam my bus by no means , just want it dropped tastefully without it being impractical.

Get the bus finished, running nicely and then spend the rest on having some nice breaks away or holidays in it.

i agree with faux, the csp shifter is the one stand-out thing ive ever bought for either of my vans (even the 1776) ,its so worth the money
i wish id bought one years ago, nice colour on the wheels btw :)

Yeah I hear that a lot about csp and gene burg shifters ! It's definitely on the cards ;-)

Yeah that colour should look great against a savannah beige van . Cheers

If you decide to change the shifter , I would recommend a Gene Berg "Locking Shifter" for a great shift and the added security.... Got to do all you can to stop those 2 legged Hyenas stealing your Bus. :msn4:

Think of security, lots of buses, beetles and classics going walkies lately!!!! A lot of big items mentioned, all good ideas really your choice... I will say do not under estimate the cost of the little items if you haven't been meticulous in taking apart. Like me :-/
Bus looks awesome good luck with your choice.... Gene berg locker for me though ;)

I have replaced literally most parts on the bus , all brakes , engine and ancillaries , loom , bearings , shocks , ball joints and beam , lights , the list goes on lol . I just hope it all works when I turn the key eventually lol .

But yeah I have been thinking about security , and gene berg seems to be a good option as well as making the driving experience way better .

I've got one of those removable bollards going in and was thinking of putting a ground anchor in to chain the beam to the floor when it's not being used .

I ordered 2 direct from Gene Berg in the States which were shipped direct straight to my home. Don't forget to take into account cost of import duties and vat which customs charges at this end.
I did have an issue with one of the shifters which was replaced real quick by Gene Berg at no cost to me, the test of a good company is how they deal with problems when they occur and Gene Berg exceeded my expectations. Order with confidence. :)
