Just getting my bus ready for its new engine, and was wondering what electric pump and regulator you recommend?

Also did a search and saw it's advised to fit a pump relay and a crash inertia switch ? Which ones do you recommend ?

Also where do you mount them?

Cheers Shaun :mrgreen:

Hi Shaun

The cb rotary pump seems to be the best to go for as it self regulates and does away with the ened for a regulator:

I would fit it under the van before the fuel line comes through the bulk head into the engine bay.

That is the roll over cut out solenoid.

Hope that helps.

I wouldn't fit another cb rotary pump. Mine failed in a year.
Go for a Huco one, much better and quieter too.
Check the pressure you need, they do a couple.

Same here, failed CB after about two years. I'm now running a Huco too :)

Nice one cheers another vote for huco 8) where abouts do you guys mount them? Is the general place like Alex says, above the gearbox before entering the engine bay ? 8)

Mines just in the engine bay to be honest. I'll see if i can dig out a pic

As is mine, you can get a model that is designed to be nearer to the tank or one to be mounted nearer to the carbs.

Here ya go fella

You can rotate the inlet/outlet position

I ran the high pressure FI fuel pipe through the bulkhead in some elec conduit. There's a plastic grommet in the hole as well, but install check it for wear regular as well.

Now it looks like I've sorted my pump, now I'm wondering do you guys run a fuel pump relay with these so if you leave the ignition on it doesn't keep running :mrgreen:

This kit Alex posted up is £91 :shock:

I did a search on these and found this

With this dia

Using this halfrauds relay

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&productId=753485&catalogId=10151#tab1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Which is a bit cheaper lol

Just need to add an inertia switch, any one seen a dia with one of these in, if not are they basically a switch added between the relay and pump?

Cheers shaun

Oh and has any one got the push button for priming fitted? If so I'm thinking of making up a little box using something like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plastic-ABS-Enclosure-Sealed-Junction-Box-IP65-115x55x90mm-Waterproof-/161083626479?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item25815513ef" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To house the relay inertia switch, priming switch, wiring etc, so it looks neater 8)

There is an alternative which uses the charging light to prime:

This is what I intended to follow but never got around to.....

Remember to fit an inertia cutout switch in series. I bought an olde rover one off eBay for £10. This will cut the fuel pump in case of an accident.

Also, I fitted a fuel cutout solenoid as the pumps can allow fuel flow through.

Cheers Jon, what solenoid are you using, I was looking at fitting one in connection with my firetec earlier this year, but I saw loads of people were having problems with the solenoids they had getting dangerously hot, (as they're LPG set up ones, so only made to run for a few minutes prior to turning over to LPG)
